Sec. 32-33 Parking or Storage of Recreational Vehicles

 

  1.  Purpose.  The Storage and Parking of Recreational Vehicles Ordinance of the Village of White Lake is to maintain the aesthetic appearances and scenic values of the Village and to prevent the overcrowding of land uses, for the mutual benefit of all.

 

  1. Recreational Vehicles, in this ordinance, are referring to any portable unit used for alternate temporary lodging.  Also referred to, or known as, as campers, travel trailers, motorhomes, toy haulers, 5th wheels, popup campers, truck camper, & RV.

 

  1. Permitted and Non-Permitted Parking or Storing of Recreational Vehicles
  1. Units may be parked or stored on the owner’s home premise, provided it conforms with the following setbacks requirements as follows: Front Yard, 25 ft from roadway; Side Yard, not less than 4 ft from lot line; Rear Yard, 4 ft from lot line. 

 

  1. Units shall not be used for the purpose of permanent habitation and shall not be occupied for longer than 30 days in one calendar year.  Unit shall not be occupied for more than 7 consecutive days in one calendar year.

 

  1. Connection to village sewer lines are prohibited.

 

  1. Connection to village water lines are prohibited. A temporary water hose may be run from the owner’s residential home to the unit for a period of not longer than 30 days in any calendar year. 

 

  1. Permanent connection to any heat or electric utility is prohibited.

 

  1. Units parked outside for more than 30 days in any calendar year must have current licenses, registrations or tags.

 

  1. No unit shall be used for the storage of goods, materials or equipment other than those items considered to be part of the essentials for its immediate use.

 

  1. No monetary gain shall be realized by the property owner for the parking or storage of a recreational vehicle.        
  1. Property owners may ask for a special approval based on individual circumstances that must be approved by the Village Board.

Election of Trustees

Ordinance 2019-09-10-2-25

Amend -Sec. 2-25

There shall be two trustees of the village. One trustees shall be elected at the spring election on even-numbered years for a term of two years, commencing on the third Tuesday of April in the year of their election. One shall be elected at the spring election on odd-numbered years for a term of two years, commencing on the third Tuesday of April in the year of their election.
